Nestled right in the heart of the lively Brera Design District, this restaurant looks like it's been there forever. That's not actually the case… but the Rovello – the latest offspring of a long line of talented restaurateurs – has still been camping out at the corner of Via Tivoli for 22 years now.

Getting a table isn't easy… even with a reservation in your pocket, you get the feeling you have to elbow your way through to grab a seat. But the moment you sit down, that sense of hustle and bustle gives way to a really pleasant calm and the discovery of courteous, flawless service.

The menu is short, classic and reassuring. Prices are pretty reasonable given the neighborhood and the quality of the ingredients.

The gigantic Cotoletta alla Milanese is perfectly cooked and wickedly crispy. The Cacio e Pepe that precedes it is impeccably executed, utterly delicious and seasoned just right for a primo.

The wine list is enooooormous and boasts a ton of beautiful natural wine references and the like. A wonderfully comforting place, where you leave with a blissful smile plastered on your face for the rest of the evening.
