All the flavors of the world are present in New York and Mexico definitely holds a special place there. This address, which opened less than two months ago, goes for the gastronomy route. The traditional elements of this cuisine are present but serve as a base for refined recipes using modern techniques and not hesitating to venture a little off the beaten path. Beyond the—admittedly—very classic guacamole (one of the best I've ever had, mind you), we tasted an "aguachile" of raw shrimp marinated with avocado flambéed. An incredible octopus and a "makabra," a kind of fish and shellfish tartare, laid on a crispy flatbread and accompanied by a chiltepin pepper-based sauce… I can already hear those who know me snickering: yes, all of that was way too spicy for my newborn capacity to handle the 🌶️… I probably won't go back right away, but it's solely for that reason because beyond the fire of the spices, the refinement of the plates was undeniable.
