LA ROYAL

Praised by many culinary magazines and blogs, this Peruvian restaurant is one of my absolute favorites from this trip. The masterminds behind this gem, an architect and a filmmaker, are already behind other very successful projects and restaurants.

The setting: an old printing house stripped back to its bones and flanked by an open kitchen. The wine list: relatively short but really well-balanced and giving pride of place to the American continent (North and South).

The team: super smiling, dynamic and friendly. And what about the plates?

A menu of about twenty appetizers and mains where traditional Peruvian cuisine and "chifa" (Sino-Peruvian) share the spotlight. It's refined and delicate. Elegant and simple at the same time. Perfectly executed… and full of discoveries.

The kind of meal that opens new culinary and taste horizons and leaves an indelible memory. I absolutely loved it.
