Not enough time to write much right now but this place deserved to be shared quickly, so here goes. You'll need to hurry to take advantage of it because this little team without a fixed restaurant who's squatting the old Chabrol in Schaerbeek will pack up their pots and pans on November 30th already... to fire them up elsewhere, sure, but since it's all pretty unclear, best not to miss the chance.
The pitch is simple and clear: seasonal vegetables and fruits / natural wines / indulgence. This last element being the absolute must-have to make me forget about meat.
The four or five course menu is priced just right. On the plates, there's talent and a good dose of intelligence.
A beautiful trio of tomato-melon-black garlic to start. A comforting oyster mushroom pavé, as much as you could wish for.
A splendid finale where apricot takes center stage. Always an ingredient to wake up your taste buds and another, savory and comforting, to pamper your palate.
The duo at the stoves trained in some really lovely places and came away with their hands (and heads) full... The Acorn in Vancouver or even Tendresse in Montreal, one of my biggest crushes from last year.
Anyway, get a move on. Word has it a second location should follow in the city center but that's no reason to wait, they deserve it (and so do you).
