Another really cool spot in this neighborhood that's transforming a little more every year. Wood fire takes center stage in the cooking.
There's meat from our buddy @dierendonck, razor clams, pickles, kale, lacto-fermented veggies and miso. The wines are natural, from friends, elegant or even rock'n'roll if needed.
The service is obviously young and laid-back and the cooks don't hesitate to bring their mouthwatering plates to you themselves. The vibe is nicely lively and a bit noisy.
On the speakers that night, Corynne Charby was like a pinball bouncing around (that hadn't happened in ages). The dishes are obviously meant to be shared.
The decor, minimalist, leaves the bricks exposed and a few techniques on display. That's it.
An urban restaurant totally in tune with the times, with a perfectly polished concept... that could be a tiny bit cliché and boring if it took itself seriously... but thankfully it doesn't, and that's what makes it great. Result?
A wonderful little machine for good times! Actually, the tone was set from the moment you read the menu: starters, mains, cheeses, desserts, kisses.
A must-do without hesitation.
