Look, we can agree that a restaurant is first and foremost a place of pleasure(s), right? While I absolutely love exceptional ones, I have to confess a special fondness for life's simple pleasures. Those Sunday evening ones, the improvised weeknight dinners, those without surprises or stress, just pure simplicity. Tontons is exactly that: a place you can't help but leave happy, thinking "they've got it all figured out." You eat a delicious Belgian-style "spaghett' bolo" (and more) accompanied by a few perfectly selected wines, in a friendly and warm setting, served by a team of rare kindness. That's not enough? They've also thought of children, the sweet-toothed, vegetarians, the gluten-free… and those who'd want to be all of that at once. If that's not an incarnation of happiness, it sure looks like one. An essential Brussels spot.
