Fox Food Market

Food courts are trendier than ever and are becoming must-visit spots in many cities. I'll admit I'm not particularly a fan of the concept… or at least, not of what's usually made of it.

The basic idea may be nice, but it's often loud, you have to elbow your way through to find a table, ordering via smartphone lacks that personal touch… and the culinary offering is, most of the time, just "not-too-bad fast food" (and I'm not even getting into the whole wine situation). Here, and that night in any case, I felt like I'd stumbled upon that famous exception that proves the rule.

The vibe was cool, the food was pretty good and different (even if a tad on the heavy side), we found a table without waiting and without feeling like we had to clear out "ASAP"… in short, pretty great. Well, on the other hand, I still won't be bringing up the wine situation… a shame but not surprising.

To sum it up, a nice spot and rather well-executed in its own right, in a town where dining options aren't exactly abundant and in a building that we're thrilled to see come back to life. Probably best to go early in the week, when there's fewer crowds.
